Publication Ethics
Publication Ethics & Malpractice Statement
The journal Moturidiylik is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and publication ethics. This statement is based on the principles and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
✅ Duties of Editors
- The editor is responsible for deciding which of the submitted articles should be published.
- Editorial decisions are based solely on the scholarly merit, originality, clarity, and relevance of the manuscript.
- The editor evaluates manuscripts without regard to the authors’ race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political views.
- The editor and editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, and the publisher.
- Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in the editor’s own research without the author’s explicit written consent.
✅ Duties of Reviewers
- Reviewers assist the editor in making editorial decisions and help authors improve their manuscripts.
- Any manuscript received for review must be treated as confidential.
- Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.
- Reviewers should inform the editor of any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published paper.
- Reviewers must declare any conflict of interest and decline to review if such conflicts exist.
✅ Duties of Authors
- Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original.
- Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given.
- Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently.
- All authors listed in the manuscript must have made a significant contribution to the research.
- Authors must disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest that might influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript.
- If an author discovers a significant error in a published work, they must immediately notify the editor and cooperate in correcting or retracting the paper.
✅ Plagiarism and Misconduct
Plagiarism in all its forms, including self-plagiarism and duplicate publication, is considered unacceptable. All manuscripts are screened using recognized anti-plagiarism software. In cases of suspected research or publication misconduct, the journal follows the COPE flowcharts and guidelines for investigation and resolution.
✅ Retraction Policy
Articles may be retracted in cases of:
- Proven plagiarism
- Fabrication or falsification of data
- Serious ethical violations
- Duplicate publication
A retraction notice will be published clearly identifying the retracted article and the reason for retraction.
✅ Conflict of Interest
All participants in the publication process (authors, reviewers, editors) are required to disclose any relationships or interests that could inappropriately influence their work.
✅ Human and Animal Rights
If research involves human participants or animals, authors must confirm that:
- The research has been conducted in accordance with institutional and international ethical standards.
- Informed consent has been obtained where applicable.
✅ Editorial Independence
Editorial decisions are made independently of:
- The journal owner
- The publisher
- Commercial interests
- Article processing charges (APCs)
The ability of authors to pay publication fees does not influence editorial decisions.
✅ Complaints and Appeals
Authors may submit complaints or appeals regarding editorial decisions. All complaints will be handled in a transparent and fair manner in accordance with COPE recommendations.
