About the Journal

Moturidiylik is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal dedicated to the study of Islamic theology and intellectual heritage, with a particular focus on the scholars of Transoxiana (Mawarannahr) and their contributions to world civilization.

The journal publishes original research articles on the Qur'an and Qur’anic exegesis (tafsir), Hadith studies, Islamic creed (ʿaqīda), Islamic theology (kalām), Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh), including both furuʿ al-fiqh and usul al-fiqh, Sufism (taṣawwuf), Islamic history, philosophy, source studies, and the Hanafi school of thought.

A central focus of the journal is the life, works, and intellectual legacy of Imam Maturidi, the formation and development of the Maturidi school, the scholarly heritage of his successors, and the contributions of contemporary Maturidi scholars. The journal also publishes analytical and applied studies that address contemporary religious, social, and educational issues through the perspective of the Maturidi tradition and the creed of Ahl al-Sunna wa al-Jamaʿa.

In addition, the journal features scientific-practical and analytical-advisory articles, as well as scholarly commentaries on regulatory and policy documents related to the religious and educational sphere.

The journal applies a double-blind peer review process and adheres to international standards of publication ethics in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Moturidiylik is a fully open-access journal. All articles are freely available without subscription or registration and are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0) . Authors retain the copyright of their published works.

The journal screens all submissions for plagiarism using recognized anti-plagiarism software. Personal data of authors and users are protected in accordance with the journal’s Privacy Policy.

The journal is published by the Imam Maturidi International Scientific-Research Center under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan and is continuously working to expand its visibility through international abstracting, indexing, and digital archiving systems.
